Super8 Wedding at the Sou’Wester
Baylee + Logan in Long Beach, Washington
Some places just stick with you.
For years, my husband and I have been visiting the Washington coastline, braving the wind, breathing in that ocean air, and always ending the evening with dinner at The Depot Restaurant (southern comfort pork, iykyk). So when I got an inquiry from Baylee about filming her wedding on Super8 at the Sou’Wester Lodge in Long Beach, WA, I immediately knew this was going to be a favorite.
It was my first time at the Sou’Wester Lodge, but it felt like walking into a memory. Picture a vintage trailer park nestled among trees, a quirky old lodge with a wood-burning fireplace, shelves of VHS tapes, and handmade goods from local artists. Think McMenamins, but with more grit, more edge, more personality. It’s the kind of place that begs to be documented on Super8 film.
Baylee and I go way back, we’ve known each other through Tacoma’s creative circles for years, and I’ve always admired her bold style and unapologetic sense of self. Her wedding with Logan was no different: a little punk rock, full of color and emotion, set against the backdrop of retro trailers and lived-in charm.
Super8 was made for this. The grain, the light leaks, the slight imperfections that make it feel like a memory before it’s even gone. A 1970’s camera filming a wedding surrounded by 1970’s trailers? That’s the kind of synchronicity I live for.
As with all of my Super8 Wedding Films, I deliver a music-edited highlight reel that’s perfect for sharing with friends and family, along with the full RAW footage. My philosophy is simple: you deserve to see your whole day, unfiltered and as it happened, like a home movie from another time. Because weddings on film are more than just documentation; they’re emotion, texture, story.
Why Choose Super8 for Your Washington Wedding?
Super8 film brings something digital never quite can—it captures moments the way you remember them, not just the way they looked. It’s nostalgic, cinematic, and completely one-of-a-kind.
If you’re planning a wedding in Washington and love the idea of documenting your day with vintage, analog film, I’d love to talk. Whether you’re tying the knot at the Sou’Wester Lodge, planning something moody in Seattle, or celebrating in a forest clearing or backyard, I believe every couple deserves a wedding video that feels true to them.
