Since 2017 the art of photography has been a part of my everyday life. I became in awe (and still am) of how food photographers captured a universal experience of eating and turned it into something more, something I wanted to crawl into myself, something I wanted to create. Oh, the power of inspiration.
The imagery and storytelling I was able to bring to my design studio accelerated the connection I was able to make with my audience right from the beginning. I was able to build a trusted and a growing community through the way I was able to present myself and my work.
In this course, I’m sharing all that experience with you. I’ll guide you through the techniques I use in my own work as a product photographer: where you will learn to harness the beauty of light and shadow, to understand artful composition, styling + guide you through visual narrative weaving to capture the essence of your brand frame by frame.

Building Confidence + Clarity
The creative process is a relationship you build with yourself first. It’s how you care for yourself, the inspiration you feed it, the nurturing, the education, the intuitive play you give it. And a relationship is about listening and communication at the baseline. We’ll explore concepts that support you and your creativity so that you can create meaningful work you are proud of.

Camera Fundamentals
Getting comfortable with manual settings, how they work and different features I use everyday. Discussing topics like camera bodies, lenses, equipment, and more. Step by step walkthroughs of ISO, Aperture and F/Stop. How to set up your camera, get comfortable with the settings and the most important things you need to get started. I’ll show you my entire camera setup, what settings I use and why and when you should use them too.

Brand Depth
Exploring the foundation of you or your clients brand and product line to better understand how to build a story. Understanding the foundational pieces provides a guide & framework for producing imagery that is meaningful and on brand. This is a crucial step that I use to inform every photoshoot I am on to ensure that the work I create has intention and will give me the results that I’m seeking.

Creative Direction + Storytelling
Deciding on style and theme, building a story through prop collections, mood-boarding, finding your iconic brand through line, DIY props, backdrops and surfaces, how to source props, analyzing works of art, setting a scene and more. Guidelines for how to think like a creative director, brainstorming activities and storytelling frameworks.

The Art of Composition + Lighting
Studying and creating scenes together, learning composition techniques and design principles, photography angles, movement, artistic camera modifications, light and shadow, finding inspiration, and art history exploration. An introduction to Lighting, how to study it and different techniques you can use for different moods and outcomes.

Lightroom Editing 101
How to use Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Mobile. Using and creating your own presets, exporting tips, creating video content, editing and color grading videos, delivering final concepts and images to clients or organizing your own content.
